چکیده

High-resolution image mosaics construction is one of the significant topics of research in the fields of computer vision, image processing, and computer graphics. Video mosaics contain enormous valuable information but when analyzing, searching or browsing a video, redundancy between frames creates problem. Therefore it is more suitable to bring together all the frames of a shot into one single image called a mosaic. The idea of Mult i-resolution mosaics comes when it is needed to handle large variations in image resolution. As the camera zooms in and zooms out changes in image resolution occur within the video sequence. Some frames which are zoomed in are at higher resolution and contain more detail. If the mosaic image is constructed in low resolution it results in loss of high frequency informat ion in the regions of mosaic that corresponds to high resolution frames. On the other hand if the mosaic image is constructed at the highest resolution it will result in over sampling the low resolution frames. Varying image resolutions can be handled by mult i-resolution mosaic data structure Zooming informat ion of each pixel is recorded in a multi resolution data structure. In a mult i resolution mosaic user can view the actual zooming informat ion and can distinguish the region with and without zooming information.

Automatic Gigapixel Mosaicing in Large Scale Unstructured Underground Environments

We are currently developing a vision-based system aiming at automatically generating in situ ultra-high resolution mosaics in previously unknown, complex and unstructured underground environments. Nowadays, image stitching algorithms present several limitations when dealing with unstructured environments. The most important to our concern is the ability to deal with feature-less areas. In this ...

High-resolution video mosaicing

The generation of high-resolution mosaics from multiple images is presented. The estimation of the high-resolution signal utilizes a motion-compensated filtering approach for video frames that are affected by spatial aliasing. For that, global motion models and the corresponding estimation algorithms are employed to provide a very accurate and continuous description of sub-pixel motion for the ...

A Transform-Domain Approach to Super-resolution Mosaicing of Compressed Images

The combination of image mosaicing and super-resolution imaging, i.e. superresolution mosaicing, is a powerful means of representing all the information of multiple overlapping images to obtain a high resolution broad view of a scene. In most current image acquisition systems, images are routinely compressed prior to transmission and storage. In this paper, we present a robust super-resolution ...

Mosaicing Video Sequences

With the advent of cheap, but relatively low-resolution, video sensors, the importance of automatically mosaicing many small video images to one large image has increased. This is due mainly to the many useful applications that may be based on such technology, such as hand-held mobile scanning, multi-resolution imaging, panoramic spreads and video compression. The process of creating a mosaiced...

Mosaicing from a Translating Camera, with Eecient Application of Super-resolution

Mosaicing and super resolution are two ways to combine information from multiple frames in video sequences. Mosaicing displays the information of multiple frames in a single panoramic image. Super-resolution uses regions which appear in multiple frames to improve resolution and reduce noise. Combining both methods enables to represent all the static information in the sequence in a compact and ...

Multi-modal Registration Based Ultrasound Mosaicing

Recent US systems allow the real-time acquisition of volume data, either by freehand 3D techniques or novel transducer hardware. However, the acquisition of large volumes is limited by the field of view of the US transducer and anatomical scanning windows into the patient. Mosaicing of several 3D US scans has been proposed to generate large US volumes. Still, US imaging specific characteristics...
